Teaching my dad to be more streetwise online

Recently I was asked to give a presentation on computer security in our local community (Near Basingstoke, United Kingdom). I had gotten frustrated and disillusioned with the standard offerings of “Staying Safe Online” material and wanted to make things more real for the audience. The presentation was aimed at non-security-geek/non-geek computer users who do all the typical things, email, social networking, online shopping, online banking and researching the latest celebrity. My case study was my dad.
This is what I came up with on my first pass.

To my surprise, the presentation was very well received.
I then shared the same material at the local DC4420 meeting with the intention of seeing if people would be interested in contributing and creating some material. I was once again surprised, attendees appeared to be interested in helping develop similar material for use in their communities.
This site is therefore aimed at the Security Geeks who want to get involved, create some material and help raise awareness in their families & communities. This blog represents a bare bones start of this activity and will be used to discuss and store material.
I will probably be setting up another site to present our material to my dad and all the people like him.
