Hard Working Families & Benefit Scroungers

Could be something, could be nothing but I’m hearing a lot of the following phrase in UK politics.
“hard working families”

The thing is, I can’t help feeling that the phrase is being deliberately rolled out to get people in work aggravated at people not in work, especially the so called “benefit scroungers”.

Google Trends does a nice (if unscientific) job of showing the use of “hard working” and “benefit scrounger” over time

Is this divisive social manipulation designed to get the masses to support a political ideology or is it just nothing?

Getting Twitter User Information with Tweepy and jsonpickle

For the interested, I still didn’t manage to figure out the Tweepy Python object navigation. There’s a <cough> remarkably </cough> similar problem posted on stackoverflow […]

Simple Python code to get Twitter user information

I’d been searching high and low for a simple script to get Twitter user information and spit out the JSON object. Tweepy felt like a sledgehammer to crack a nut. More specifically, navigating the Tweep class object returned is going to take me some more work.

So if you’re looking for a quick way to dump a users information, here’s some code that works.
